NexLab Weather Staff

The meteorology faculty and staff at COD are dedicated to providing top-tier education and resources for students passionate about the weather. Leading the program is Professor Paul Sirvatka, founder of COD’s meteorology program, with over 35 years of expertise in severe weather, aviation meteorology, and forecasting. Joining him is Professor Ron Stenz, whose background in atmospheric physics and numerical modeling brings a deep understanding of weather dynamics. Together, our faculty fosters a hands-on learning environment, preparing students for careers in meteorology.

Student AMS Club

The College of DuPage Chapter of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) is an active co-sponsor of speakers brought to COD by the Chicago AMS. Additionally, the chapter raises funds to support students through Storm Chasing scholarships and creates and sell its yearly COD AMS Calendar. COD AMS is a very successful student group on campus and offers students serving opportunities and social networking with other students both here at COD and across the area.
